Towering Over Osaka's Center - Abeno Harukas
Abeno Harukas is the newest section of the Abenobashi Terminal Building. Opened in 2014, the tower is the tallest building in Japan at 300 meters tall with 60 floors above ground and 5 floors underground.
There is a dedicated parking lot within the basement of Abeno Harukas which can hold 180 automobiles. From the basement 2nd floor (B2F) to the 1st ground floor (1F) are directly connected to Osaka Abenobashi Station, which has the terminus for a few of the Kintetsu Corporation Lines from Nara. If you want to use the JR Lines, Tennoji Station is just across the street from the complex and a few minutes’ walk.
Kintetsu Department Store Main Store Abeno Harukas, covering from the 2nd floor of basement level (B2F) to the 14th floor (14F), is the biggest department store in Japan. There is a myriad of stores with everything from fashion to watches and shoes. Brands which are popular among those visiting Japan can be found occupying sections of the department store.
Restaurants with food from around the world can be found from the 12th to 14th floor. You’ll be able to try local Osaka foods, cuisines from all over Japan and restaurants that plate up meals from outside Japan.
See Osaka from the Abeno Harukas Observation Deck
The Abeno Harukas Observation Deck, known as the Harukas 300, takes up the 58th to 60th floor of the giant building. An open-air outdoor plaza is on the 58th floor with a three-story atrium that lets you experience the natural beauty of Osaka in theme with the building’s ecological aesthetic.
On the top floor, the 60th floor, you’ll be able to experience all of Osaka and the surrounding areas with a panoramic view. The observation deck is a glass-enclosed structure that has an unobstructed view of Kansai, where you can see as far as Kyoto and Kobe.
To get to Abeno Harukas Observation Deck, you’ll have to first head to the 16th floor. On the 16th floor you’ll be able to purchase a ticket to the Observation Deck and be able to ride the elevator that exclusively takes you to the deck.
Ticket prices for the Observation Deck for adults start at 1,500 yen for a single admission ticket, or 1,350 yen for a group admission if you have a group of 15 or more.
Experience Arts at the Abeno Harukas Art Museum
On the 16th floor is the Abeno Harukas Art Museum which hold exhibitions of wide range, such as Japanese Arts, Eastern Arts, Western Arts, and Modern Arts, all throughout the year.
It is a full-fledged "Urban Art Museum" where national treasures and important cultural properties are exhibited, allowing everyone to immerse in arts and culture easily. The museum is open from 10:00 AM until 8:00 PM from Tuesday through Friday, and until 6:00 PM for Weekends, Public Holidays and Monday, except for certain Mondays in which the museum will be closed.
On the same floor is the rooftop garden, which spectacular views of Osaka while being surrounded by nature.
