A formal ski stadium which hosted a few events for Olympics Winter Sports in 1972 and FIS Nordic World Ski Championships 2007, the Okurayama Ski Jump Stadium (大倉山ジャンプ競技場) is in the Miyanomori area in Chūō-ku, Sapporo.The facility features a thrilling slope for ski jumpers from 307m above sea level and an observation deck.
Okurayama Observatory
Taking the ski lift, you can reach the observatory which lets you gaze upon the sprawl of the city covered in snow if you’re visiting in Winter. In Spring, the greenery of the city is still very refreshing to look at. Looking out the windows, you can feel a wonder at the city coated with powdery snow.
You can also watch the people fling themself down the ski slope and land in the snow (winter) or greenery. If you’re skilled in ski jumping, you can also take the chance and go for an exhilarating jump!
Tickets to the winter ski stadium and the ski lift are 500 yen and 600 yen if you buy separately, but if you buy them together, they’re only 1000 yen.
Save with the Sapporo Select Course
You can also enjoy a lower price with the Sapporo Select Courses. The ticket is available for purchase at the ski jump stadium. Type A Course is 2,300 yen, and it includes the Sapporo Mt. Moiwa Ropeway, and you can add 2 of the locations from the 6 locations listed (one of it is the ski stadium)!
The B Course is only 1,350 yen but doesn’t include the ride for Mt. Moiwa Ropeway. Okurayama Viewing Lounge Lift is included in both courses as an option so you could get the 1,350 yen course if you want to spend less.
How To Get To Okurayama Ski Jump
From the Tozai Subway Line to Maruyama Koen Station, take Bus No. 14 to Okurayama Kyogijo Iriguchi bus stop. From here, walk uphill to the Okurayama Ski Jump Stadium which is around 10 minutes away. The bus fare is 210 yen.
