TRAIN TRAIN TRAIN, everyday TRAIN…
That’s the famous ride here in Japan = TRAIN = 電車(でんしゃ)Densha

Can you see the picture up there?
What do you think happened?

Here in Japan, there is this thing called 人身事故(じんしんじこ)Jinshinjiko which means accident resultin in personal injury or death especially relating to traffic, rail, etc.
So sometimes while people are walking beside the railway, people accidentally are hit by trains, or something else.

The picture out there is a result of JINSHINJIKO and there is possibility that the train will be late for at least 30 minutes or even more than a hour.

And when the train comes, this is what you will see….

People pushing themselves to get into a train which is really really きつい (intense or hard) .
Its like you can’t move your legs and you are just stuck inside the train.

But maybe you guys will think, if you have to go to school, to work, to meet someone for an appointment, well its likely you will be late for a hour or two.

TADA!!!
This is the magic paper that saves your life!
This is called 遅延証明書(ちえんしょうめいしょ)Chienshoumeisho or you can also say 遅延証(ちえんしょう)chiensho which means certificate of lateness (issued by a railroad company).
For example you have school at 9, and you are late for 30 minutes because of the accident (not only injuries but usually when people push themselves into the train, and their bag gets stuck and the door can’t close).
If the door doesn’t close, the train will not move.
You wilk have to wait for quite some time.
The 駅員(えきいん)Eki-in, the train station staff, will give you this paper and you can give it to your teacher which proves that you are late because of the accident.
You can even get the CHIENSHOU from the internet..
How cool is that?

So well, this is Japan, you can only experience these things in Japan..
Which means you have to come here!
And when you stay here you can use this CHIENSHO if you are late for school or work!
