Have you ever seen so much Hello Kitty merchandise!?
These photos are from Sanrio Puroland (Hello Kitty Land), which is just a 40-minute train ride away from Tokyo.
Inside the park, you can enjoy a host of attractions, as well as meet all your favorite Hello Kitty characters!
Last time I focused on the attractions, but this time I'm going to be introducing all the different Hello Kitty merchandise that's available in the souvenir area.
A lot of these items can't be purchased anywhere else, so be sure to take a look!
Come on!
Let's take a closer look at all the Hello Kitty goodies waiting inside!
This corner is where all the Hello Kitty accessories and other small items are.
As you can see, it's packed with keychains, cellphone straps, and little plush toys!
And of course, it wouldn’t be a souvenir store without candy, right?
These shelves are lined with cute, pink boxes of all shapes and sizes!
From right to left, we have marshmallows, chocolates, and lollipops.
The packages are so cute and cheerful, it’s fun enough just looking at them all!
These are some of the different types of chocolates.
Out of all the different candy, it looks like chocolate is especially popular!
Some of the candies also come in illustrated tins, and lots of people buy them so they can use them to put stuff in once they're done eating!
Next up are these Hello Kitty flasks.
They're great for carrying cold drinks on hot days, and are especially popular with tourists from overseas.
There are even Hello Kitty cosplay clothes, too!
They come in both children's and adult sizes, so you could even dress up together as mother and daughter.
Any girl puts one of these on and she'll instantly feel like a fairytale princess!
This is the Hello Kitty jewelry.
It's made from real gold and silver, so the prices are in the tens of thousands of yen (several hundreds of dollars!) Pretty expensive, but apparently some people buy it as a reminder of their visit!
These are the wristwatches.
They're not as expensive as the jewelry—each one costs a few thousand yen (a few dozen dollars.)
I asked the girl working in the store to show me some of the most popular items.
She recommended these illustrated candy bags and little plush toys!
This year has only just begun, so on display was a kumade, a bamboo rake that's said to “rake in” good luck for the coming year.
It was over three meters high, too!
Usually, kumade are decorated with sea bream, tawara (old-fashioned Japanese rice sacks) and koban (old Japanese gold coins,) all of which are said to bring good fortune in business.
For some reason, though, this one's covered with Hello Kitty characters instead!
As well as all the attractions, Sanrio Puroland (Hello Kitty Land) has heaps of fun merchandise that you can't get your hands on anywhere else!
Make sure to stop by for some special shopping when you visit Japan!
